Dear Members and Customers,
We writing in hope that our planned actions will help to stop the spread of the COVID 19 virus. We have reviewed the planned events of the Irish Texel Sheep Society in the coming months. It has been decided for the protection of the organisers, sponsors, exhibitors and spectators that the following events will be cancelled.
National Championships Kilkenny
All Ireland Championships Donegal
National Show Flock of the Year
We believe taking the decision now will limit the financial impact to exhibitors through preparing sheep for the shows. We have also agreed to reinvest the monies we would normally allocate to these events to the 2020 sales season.
We understand that the main concern for the members and customers will be the upcoming sales season. This unprecedented situation is ever evolving so we have brought a committee together to ensure that we are prepared and ready to react when needed. We can assure you that the committee will do everything in its power to have the sales in the current format or in a new innovative way.
These times are challenging for all, we want you all to know that we are here to support where ever way we can. Please feel free to contact any of our COVID 19 task force who’s names and numbers are listed below.
We know everyone’s social media news feeds are inundated in COVID 19 updates, to allow people a break from this we encourage members to post pictures of the sheep they were planning on showing throughout the year.
